inXile Entertainment teams up with Koch Media for upcoming games Bard’s Tale 4 and Wasteland 3
Stockholm, Sweden, May 16th 2018 – California-based video game development studio inXile Entertainment teams up with Koch Media for the upcoming RPG titles The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep and Wasteland 3.
In Wasteland 3, inXile builds upon its award‐winning franchise, beginning shortly after the end of Wasteland 2, with the player starting the game as the sole survivor of Team November, a Ranger squad dispatched to the icy Colorado wastes. Colorado is a land of buried secrets, lost technology, fearsome lunatics, and deadly factions, most of which have never heard of the Desert Rangers. The franchise’s storied history of choice and consequence returns better than ever in this newest entry, which challenges the players to “Conquer the Cold.”
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep
The original The Bard’s Tale was a milestone hit in 1985, putting Interplay on the map and launching the legendary career of Brian Fargo. Now, 30 years after the last entry in the iconic series, inXile has full access to the name and contents of the original The Bard’s Tale, making it possible to craft a true sequel to the originals. The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is the long-awaited return to the rich dungeon crawler heritage the series helped build, where tactical combat and challenging puzzles take center stage.
“Both The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep and Wasteland 3 were crowdfunded projects, games that would not be possible without a fan base as passionate about role-playing games as we are. In Koch Media, we have found a partner equally committed to these kinds of experiences. We can’t wait to get both these games into players’ hands around the world.” – Brian Fargo, CEO, inXile Entertainment
